How it works
Whether you’re starting from a blank page, or you’d like to transform an existing piece, every upgrade and bespoke commission begins with a consultation.
During this free session, our designer will listen to your ideas, share inspiration, and begin crafting a bespoke design brief that considers your budget and taste.

You’ll receive a design folder including beautiful renders of your bespoke jewellery design ahead of a second consultancy session with our designer.

Our designer is at your service. The second session together allows you to refine your bespoke vision and check details such as sizing.
You’ll also receive a detailed jewellery quotation and, for any contributed preloved pieces, the total value of the recycled raw metals is discounted from the cost of the total piece. Finally, a non-refundable deposit is required to transform your perfected design into a reality.

Any gems, stones, and materials are hand-selected by your designer and approved by you. Some designs may need a wax model before casting and our designer will be on-hand to make any alterations to perfect your masterpiece before the final magic happens…

Words from our designer
A client came to me with some older jewellery: some that had been gifted to her many years ago and some that she had bought herself, but which was no longer her style. This included two diamond rings set in 18ct yellow gold and a lovely loose oval aquamarine that had fallen out of an older ring. During our first meeting we discussed what style of ring she was hoping to transform her older pieces into. The client was keen to use the aquamarine and one diamond and was keen for a contemporary, asymmetric style that could showcase the stones in the best way possible. The client had a very active lifestyle, so the new piece needed to be practical for everyday use.
I played with a few designs to highlight the stones. There was enough gold to make the shank (band of the ring) but the client decided to use platinum to set the stone to compliment the aquamarine and diamond. In our second meeting the client picked her favourite of 6 designs and I began the work of freeing the stones from their settings and melting the metal down to reforge the ring. A few weeks later I presented the completed ring to the client who was very happy with the final product!
To make this ring reusing the gold and stones from her existing rings cost in the region of £950. To buy this ring at retail cost would be in the region of £4500, showing how much money you can save upcycling pre-loved pieces!
How much it costs
Our first-class support service ensures your needs are heard. We’ll consider your personal taste and budget during an initial free, no-obligation consultation. You’ll receive a detailed jewellery quotation for your approval, following your complimentary design service. If you decide to proceed, a 70% non-refundable deposit is required to procure the precious materials and commence the making. The full balance is due upon completion of your bespoke masterpiece.
The minimum cost for a bespoke gold or platinum engagement ring from Featherstones jewellery is £700. The price for a silver piece would be considerably less and if you have an old piece that you would like upcycled, the cost of the raw materials extracted from the old piece can be offset against the price of the final piece. Apart from this, you can spend as much or as little as you want. We will work with you to create bespoke pieces to your budget that you or someone special to you will treasure for years to come.
